In 2019, CNWL launched Hillingdon Talks, Moves, Plays – the Children’s Integrated Therapy Service (CITS).
They are a team of specialist Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, technicians and administrators, who deliver a community service for children and young people aged 0 to 19. They work together with children and young people, their families and settings by offering assessment, training and advice.
New icons have been created to identify the service, and they will be used across existing digital channels such as the website, social media as well as leaflets. See the new icons below.
On the service page, you can find information on the following:
- Virtual training sessions for parents, carers and professionals
- The service run drop-in sessions for parents, carers, school staff and professionals to get advice for children and young people who are not on the caseload but where further information is needed on how best to support them.
- Advice sheets, videos and resources developed by the therapist teams as well as a range of links to recommended sources of information
Mita Mistry, (Clinical Services Manager and Professional Therapy Lead for Children, Young People, Family Services and CDT) says:
“We encourage you to find out more about our CITS service by looking at the Hillingdon Talks, Moves and Plays website and various social media pages. They provide resources and support for children and young people in Hillingdon, their families and their carers.”
Hillingdon Talks (speech and language therapy) will include the icon of a parrot. The parrot was chosen as a symbol for voice, communication and speaking.
Hillingdon Moves (physiotherapy) will include the icon of a cheetah. The cheetah is a symbol of movement.
Hillingdon Plays (occupational therapy) will include the icon of a baby elephant. The elephant symbolises playfulness and sociability.
