The theme this year is “Understanding Occupations” Occupational Therapy Week 2024 - RCOT and encourages us all to understand that occupations are the building blocks of everyone’s lives; they are all the things we want to do, need to do or love to do, and they are meaningful to each individual person.
This week we encourage all staff to talk to the Occupational Therapsists (OTs) they work with and understand what their role is, as well as consider how important your personal meaningful occupations are and how difficult life would be if you were not able to engage in them.
On Monday 11 November we will be having our CNWL Occupational Therapy conference which will focuses on:
- The national agenda, with a key note speech from Karin Orman, Director of Practice and Innovation at RCOT
- Our CNWL vision for Occupational Therapy, including making the most of OT as a precious resource and growing our OT community in strength and number.
- Showcasing good OT practice from across the trust
- Networking opportunities for delegates from across the Trust and all clinical specialities.
OT is the largest AHP profession in CNWL and we are one of the largest employers of OTs in the country. We are proud that, despite there being a national shortage of OTs, at CNWL we have lower vacancy rates and better retention rates that other local providers and we value our OTs across 150 CNWL teams.
Let’s all appreciate our OTs this week!
