Community Health Care Assistant, Bettelle Joseph, is a winner of this year’s Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Rising Star Awards. Bettelle is part of the team at CNWL’s Hunter Street (Camden Integrated Community Healthcare).

Bettelle is one of 20 winners, recognised for taking their passion for justice and equality and using it to champion inclusion, to prioritise wellbeing for staff and patients, and to empower others.

She said: “It goes without saying that I feel extremely humbled by the award and feel proud that CNWL has provided me with the opportunity to develop with a very skilled team Nurse.

“In my six years at Hunter street, I have been privileged to work with some amazing, inspirational BAME Nurses, as well as previous Rising Star winner! I would like to thank my colleagues for their support, Polly Cotter (our Team Lead) for the nomination and CNWL for the opportunities they afford BAME Nurses.”

The Awards recognise nurses and healthcare support workers from London’s Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) nursing community who have made an outstanding contribution to the capital’s health and care system.

The theme of the awards, and RCN London’s Black History Month’s celebrations, this year is ‘anti-racism: striving for justice and promoting wellbeing’.
