Anita Henderson, CAMHS Community Nurse Consultant at CNWL has had her first research study published in the journal of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. This systematic review is about how mental health professionals and those with a history of trauma are more likely to experience secondary traumatic stress when caring for someone with trauma.

"This review forms the foundation of my research and is a stepping stone to a mixed methods study focussing on mental health nurses and whether their own experience of trauma impacts on secondary traumatic stress levels and if so how can we support nurses in reducing these symptoms. It is a great feeling to have your hard work recognised by being published and I would like to encourage mental health nurses to undertake their own research and think about doing their PhD. We need more nurse led research to empower and strengthen our voice for change."
