We recognise that eating disorders affects both males and females, as such we are able to support admission and treatment for men on the unit.
We aim to provide services that men will feel comfortable to access and use. Whilst we cannot guarantee that there will always be more than one male patient engaged in the inpatient and day patient programme, our recruitment strategy makes sure that there are male members of both the nursing and therapy teams, so that male patients can have access a male keyworker and therapist if they wish.
Vincent Square has a several bedrooms that can be used for male admissions. Male patients have a dedicated shower room and our quiet room can be utilised as a male lounge if required. The rooms are specifically situated on the unit to provide a balance between the need for privacy and the need for integration with the patient group and treatment programme.
