Admin colleagues from across CNWL came together on 21 April for the CNWL Admin Conference 2026 – a vibrant day of learning, connection and celebration that put the spotlight firmly on the power of admin.

Bringing together colleagues from services and sites across the Trust, the conference celebrated the essential role admin teams play in supporting compassionate care, while empowering staff with practical tools, fresh ideas and a shared sense of pride.

The conference was opened by Claire Murdoch, CNWL Chief Executive, who welcomed colleagues and reflected on the vital contribution admin teams make every day in supporting compassionate care across the Trust.

The event was hosted by Simon Warren, who guided attendees through the day’s programme and discussions.

Driving excellence through innovation and smarter working

The programme opened with Digital Innovations, delivered by Chris White, which explored how technology is supporting more effective and efficient ways of working across CNWL.

This was followed by Working Smarter with AI, led by Sarah Omope, who shared practical examples of how admin colleagues can use AI safely and confidently to reduce time spent on routine tasks, work more efficiently and build skills for the future.

Strengthening communication and shaping the future

After lunch, delegates took part in Effective Communication in Practice: Tools for Admin Teams, delivered by Paulie Rowledge and Manpreet Matharu. The session focused on practical communication tools and techniques admins can use every day to support teams, services and patients.

The afternoon also included an Admin Strategy session, giving colleagues the opportunity to hear more about the Trust’s direction and how the CNWL Administration Strategy is supporting the development, recognition and empowerment of admin staff across the organisation.

Celebrating success and being #PROUD2BADMIN

Attendees were treated to the premiere of a new video showcasing the wide range of admin roles across the Trust, bringing to life the impact, skill and dedication behind the scenes. Watch the video below:

A real highlight of the day was the awards ceremony, which celebrated the outstanding contribution admin colleagues make right across CNWL.
