Members of the CNWL Improvement Academy Faculty were recently invited by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) to present at their Chief Quality Officer (CQO) Programme, providing an opportunity to share the work they've been doing at CNWL with an international audience of senior healthcare quality leaders.
What We Shared
CNWL was represented by three members of our Improvement Academy Faculty.
Alison Butler, Director of Improvement, presented on building a Quality Management System, focusing on how CNWL has translated improvement theory into real-world practice. Alison shared the practical realities of embedding a system-wide approach to quality within an NHS Foundation Trust. Reflecting our improvement journey so far and our ambitions to further develop our Quality Management System.
Bridget Browne, Head of Quality Improvement, and Janet Seale, Carer and Honorary Faculty member of the Improvement Academy, presented CNWL's work on increasing Expert by Experience (EbE) involvement in Quality Improvement. They shared the journey of EbE involvement at CNWL and how improvement methods have been used to continuously adapt and strengthen our approach over time. This work has resulted in average of 80% of our active QI projects having EbE involvement which we are genuinely proud of.
