CNWL Arts in Health hosted their fourth workshop this March as part of an engaging cultural programme in collaboration with Two Temple Place. This initiative is inspired by their ongoing exhibition, The Glass Heart, which is open from January to April 2024.

The exhibition itself serves as a captivating exploration of glass in the UK, uniting rarely-seen works from collections across the country. Our participants were excited to be guided around a private facilitator-led tour of The Glass Heart exhibition, gaining insights into the diverse facets of glass-making history and seeing beautiful interpretations of the glass and it’s materiality.

During the visit, participants were led through a tailored-made weaving workshop inspired by the Kente cloth patterns in Anthony Amoako-Attah’s artwork that is featured in the exhibition. The workshop, inspired by the symbolic patterns of West African fabric making, provided the group with an immersive experience of creating their own intricate pieces directly in response to the exhibition. It was a fantastic way to culminate a brilliant partnership between Arts in Health and Two Temple Place.
