This summer, CNWL Arts in Health had the opportunity to visit the Tate Modern. Tate Modern displays over a hundred years of art, celebrating artwork spanning from modernism in the early 1900s, to exciting contemporary works created today. This includes paintings, sculptures, and more made by artists all over the world such as Pablo Picasso, Emily Kame Kngwarreye, and Jenny Holzer.
Our visit started with a meet and greet at the Turbine Hall, and then a guided tour through Tate Modern's world-renowned galleries in which we immersed in the very best of modern and contemporary art from all around the world. We were provided the opportunity to ask questions and unlock thought-provoking insights as we learned fascinating information and stories about the artwork that was shown. One of the group highlights was seeing Sol LeWitt's ‘Upside Down Structure with Three Towers, Expanded 23 Times’ (2015) which consists of over 500 independent components made of Venetian blinds.
We ended our visit by grabbing some refreshments at Tate’s kitchen while sharing opinions on the artwork we had seen as a group.
