In March 2023, the CNWL Arts in Health team and participants visited the Design Museum's 'Designer Maker User' display which features almost 1000 items of twentieth and twenty-first century design viewed through the angles of the designer, manufacturer and user.
The display covers a broad range of design disciplines, from architecture and engineering to the digital world, fashion and graphics. We started the visit with an introduction from the Design Museum's learning team, and began by exploring their crowdsourced wall, which includes the public's favourite design innovations.
After visiting the eclectic exhibition, our participants returned to their studio to explore some creative briefs together, as well as to have some snacks and chat with each other about the different parts of our visit while creatively responding to the trip.
