IMG_20240626_150335_1.jpgOn Wednesday 26 June, CNWL’s Volunteering Service hosted an afternoon of food, awards and socialising in Westminster’s Hope in the Community space. Dozens of volunteers and supervisors from across the Trust gathered to meet one another and celebrate their vital contribution to CNWL.

You can browse through photos of the afternoon at the bottom of this page.

Nuria de Miguel, Volunteer Service Manager, gave a warm welcome to all in attendance and paid tribute to all the volunteers, from across 300 services, who weren’t able to attend. She said: “this afternoon is for you. You are a fundamental part of CNWL and there are many things we could not achieve without your support.”

Nick Green, CNWL’s Chief People Officer, also sent in a pre-recorded message of thanks that you can watch in full here. Nick emphasises that “volunteering is an important glue for our communities, that helps the way in which we interact with eachother and support eachother.”

The afternoon included a short awards ceremony where winners had been chosen by a judging panel consisting of a carer, a service user and two CNWL staff members. The categories were based on the Trust’s cultural framework: SCARF which aims to influence and support all staff at all levels to provide the best quality patient care.
